According to a Pew survey published in 2020, less than two-thirds of Americans in rural areas have a broadband internet connection at home. Among Americans with household incomes below $30,000, four out of 10 don’t have a computer, and three out of 10 don’t have a smartphone.
Bossier Parish Libraries offers computer and internet access at all locations.
A library card is not required to use our public computers or our WiFi. WiFi is available at all locations. In addition to WiFi inside our buildings, we try our best to offer WiFi access from our parking lots, but service is not always available or guaranteed. The WiFi network name and password are posted at all locations.
Additionally, we have mobile hotspots and laptops available for check out (a checkout history of 6 months is required before you can borrow a laptop).
Mobile Printing
With our PrinterOn MobilePrint Service™, you can use your personal computer or mobile device to print to the library’s printers from anywhere. Submit documents for printing using your email address, then come to the library to release and pick up your document. Remote prints can be sent any time from 30 minutes before opening until 30 minutes before closing and must be printed within 4 hours of submission. We strongly encourage you to contact the branch before your arrival to ensure that your print job(s) are waiting in the queue, to be printed upon your arrival.
