These resources are designed to support our educators by making it easy to share library materials with your students so they can succeed.

Educator Card

Bossier Parish Libraries now offers an educator library card. With this card, you can:

  • Check-out materials for a 30-day loan period
  • Check-out six non-fiction items per subject so you can utilize them in the classroom

Who qualifies for an educator card?

Any educator in Bossier Parish; this includes teachers, principals, librarians, teacher's aides, homeschool teacher, etc.

How do I get an educator card?

Visit any of our locations and provide verification during the application process.  Acceptable forms of verification include:

  • School ID
  • Louisiana Department of Education home study approval letter
  • Paystub from Bossier Schools
  • Any other form of verification of your educator status

Assignment Alert

Notify a nearby library branch about an upcoming assignment by submitting an Assignment Alert form. When received, librarians will help your students by gathering age-appropriate resources to use.

Whether your class comes to us or a librarian visits your class, there's no better way to introduce your students to what the library has to offer.

Student eCards

Through our partnership with Bossier Schools, every student enrolled in a public school in Bossier Parish has instant access to digital resources provided by Bossier Parish Libraries using their Student eCard.

Digital Resources

Find databases for in-depth research in subjects such as:  Business & Personal Finance; Health & Medicine; History & Genealogy; and Literature.  That's to be expected, but did you know that we also offer databases that can be beneficial to you as an educator as well?

A to Z World Food brings international cuisine to you with thousands of recipes and articles.  Gale Courses offers a wide range of highly interactive, instructor-led courses that you can take entirely online.  Knowledge City offers state-of-the-art professional development in critical business skills such as leadership management.  And many more!

You'll find some of our databases are a natural fit to supplement your classroom materials.  Homework Louisiana provides live online tutoring and homework help for K through basic college level.  LearningExpress Library offers instantly scored licensing, certification, and aptitude practice tests, online career preparation, and vital information for a wide variety of occupations. Tumblebook Library is an online collection of animated picture books which teach kids the joy of reading in a format they’ll love.  And of course there are plenty of in-depth research databases for completing class assignments!

We also offer online tutorials to help you learn how to download eBooks & audiobooks, stream movies & music, read digital magazines, research our databases, and more.
